The early success of AIMS quickly caught the attention of K-4 teachers and created a widespread demand for similarly integrated materials for their use. In response, AIMS was established as a permanent program to develop integrated math/science materials for K-9.
In 1986, the AIMS Education Foundation was established as a non-profit, independent organization to administer this rapidly growing and increasingly complex program. The Foundation is located on the campus of Fresno Pacific University, with which it maintains a strong collaborative relationship. Several AIMS program directors also serve on the graduate faculty of the University.
